WOODEN IGLOO
170 x 170 x 210 cm
Wood, nails, glue, acrylic paint
2013

This installation was built during a residency at the South Square Centre in Bradford, England. Each year, one artist is invited to both live and work in the gallery space for two months. As the gallery space thus became my home, I chose to build a house within this house. And as my temporary residence in the gallery space seemed to evoke a nomadic lifestyle, I chose to build an igloo. And since I am a middle-class city boy from Oslo, I chose to build the igloo out of wood bought at the local lumberyard.
